Enter the Best of WetCanvas Art Competition

WetCanvas forums are a favorite of many artists and often host challenges and contests to showcase individual art. If you’re interested in having your work featured as the “Best of WetCanvas,” don’t miss the chance to enter the Best of WetCanvas Art Competition! Landscape, still life and portrait paintings are all accepted until the deadline, October 31.

Prizes include the prestigious title above plus a grand prize of $1,000, $100 plus ArtistsNetwork.TV subscriptions for the first place winners in each category, $100 gift card for NorthLightShop.com for second place winners in each category, and a one-year subscription to an art magazine for all third place winners. Each winner will also receive a certificate commemorating their achievement.

A Jury of Your Peers

Entries will be judged by a panel of judges, followed by a semifinalist round judged by the WetCanvas community. Winners will be notified by December 31.

Anyone in good standing with WetCanvas can apply. Your original artwork must not be based on any other artist’s work, though the WetCanvas reference library may be used. Entries have to be submitted online, along with a $15 entry fee.

T-Shirt Contest

WetCanvas is also running a T-shirt contest that ends October 1. To enter, simply create a t-shirt design that symbolizes what WetCanvas means to you. You don’t have to make it a painting; oil pastels, digital art, and basically anything else is accepted, as long as it can be made into a t-shirt design.

Submissions must be submitted online, and be in a JPEG or PNG format. They have to be based on the current theme (in this case, what WetCanvas means to you) and cannot contain any obscene images. Up to two entries per person are allowed.

Five winners will be selected by the community. These winners will have a shot at over $300 in prizes, including gift cards, paint, oil pastels, books, and art workshops.

The best part, of course, is that the winning designs will be made into actual t-shirts that the community will sell. For complete rules or to submit an entry, click here.
